Having stayed at Angsana Velavaru twice before, it was amazing to recognize friends who now work at Ihuru or Vabbinfaru. Overall it was a great short stay, this is not a luxury resort, however it has friendly staff, great reef very accessible from shore (the most beautiful house reef among the 8 resorts we have visited in Maldives), comfortable villa, and only at a short distance from Male. To Read MoreThis was my family’s 4th stay in Maldives, and due to the great reviews regarding the reef at Dhawa, as well as its recent renovation, we chose this resort to spend our last summer week here. To our delight, the stay for us was an up mostly pleasant experience, ranging from its amazing food (fresh fruits, grilled tuna, bar drinks), modern and clean rooms, spectacular reef (with the likes of reef and black fin sharks, a bunch of colourful fish types, turtles or even dolphins) and among all a group of very kind and special staff. Worth to mention among the advantages of this island is also its just about right location of around 30 minutes comfortably from the airport, as well as daily offered free boat drives to its sister island Banyan Tree. It was definitely a memorable addition to my family’s collection of Maldives islands, and I can certainly recommend a visit here (especially if you are looking for the few remaining islands that still have preserved the magical Maldivian reef experience).
