A couple of reasons we chose it were to have relative proximity and access to Male (easy 20 min boat transfer straight to the airport, which was seamless from when we arrived to departure - we get seasick so were worried about a long transfer or weather disruption), and a choice of a few restaurants so we would have some variety throughout the week. We had never been to the Maldives before and had little expectation, but turned out to be a fantastic stay even during the quieter off season. Weather was 90% fine (there was heavier rain during some of the nights, and one evening with some heavier wind but honestly this didn't disrupt anything at all for us during the week and the next morning you wouldn't have even known) - in fact, we had lots of sunshine and plenty of space on the beach, went snorkelling a few times just off the beach (gear provided by the resort; we saw fishes, crabs and even a sea turtle one early morning!), joined a shark swimming tour organised by the dive centre, went to the spa and fully stocked on-site gym a few times, did a fun photo shoot with the on-site photographer and also tried every restaurant they had. Food was generally great - which was important to us as you have limited options for alternatives otherwise - breakfast was always plentiful and diverse, with a great selection of food, freshly baked bread and pastries, and also fresh fruits, and there's a nice variety of restaurants on-site (from buffet to ala carte dining and grill-type food). We actually ended up going back for dinner a few times to Etesian (the lamb and steak were both good, and we liked the baked rice dishes there too). The beach-side grill restaurant Sand was nice too, and very pleasant to eat there when the weather is cool with some breeze - the large prawns were delicious. You can also see baby sharks swimming around the jetty in the evening, which is amazing. Lamb skewers with an ice-cold mug of beer at the sunset bar on the far end of the island was also excellent and great for a pre-dinner snack, and we sat there watching the sunset one of the evenings. A big tip would be to make sure you book the restaurants you want to eat at in advance (i.e. from when you arrive) as I think they can be quite busy (or closed on some days) but the front desk is very helpful with organising this. The resort and island is small and feels both intimate and relatively private, which is something we appreciated and were really after. Easy to walk everywhere you needed to go, and the team were quick to help with anything we needed. We were really taken care of by the team and big thank you to the GM Denys, the head chef Vincent, chefs Arnold and Chandu, plus Abdullah who helped service our room everyday. Perfect holiday - we were very sad to leave after the week! Hope to be back soon and look forward to trying the new food menu at our next visit - we were very lucky and got to sample a few new dishes in the works! Read Less

Hotel was above our expectations (ok that was a fist time on Maldives but still) - team is extremely friendly, room service - top (twice a day), activities (kayak, photo etc.) - everything is at high level. Bear in mind that this hotel is very well positioned esp for those who is coming for a few days like us - you don't have to spend your time to get far from airport - here is 30 mins by speedboat that was also complimentary - what else of you need?
