Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss is strengthening its presence in the Maldives as part of its expanded Summer 2026 flight schedule, responding to growing demand for long-haul leisure travel.

From July 3, 2026, two new weekly flights to the Maldives will be offered. The flights will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays. For autumn 2026, Edelweiss is also planning additional flights to holiday destinations in the Indian Ocean to meet the seasonally increased demand for beach holidays.

As part of its wider network expansion, Edelweiss is increasing frequencies across several long-haul routes, including the Maldives, offering travellers greater flexibility and improved connectivity from Zurich. This move aligns with the airline’s strategy to enhance its portfolio of premium holiday destinations while providing more choice for passengers during peak travel periods. Flights are now bookable at flyedelweiss.com and through all usual sales channels. With these measures, Edelweiss is responding flexibly to current demand trends and utilizing available capacity to further develop its services.

The increased flight offering is expected to further support tourism growth in the Maldives, providing travellers with more convenient and direct travel options from Europe during the busy summer season.
