Marriott International in the Maldives has completed the second India roadshow, bringing together representatives from the Maldives portfolio for a series of engagements with both key media and trade partners across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Delhi. The roadshow highlighted how the destination continues to evolve to meet the changing needs and preferences of Indian travelers, while providing a platform for leaders across the portfolio to share insights on emerging travel trends and discuss how the resorts are adapting their offerings to meet evolving guest expectations.
More than 250 travel trade partners and 35 media professionals, including journalists, editors and contributors from leading publications, participated in the program. The engagements also underscored Marriott International’s commitment to the Indian market, marked by the establishment of a dedicated four-person in-market sales team this year. By working closely with customers and trade partners across the country, the team plays an important role in driving awareness, demand and inbound tourism to the Maldives.

A key focus of the roadshow was the evolving profile of Indian travelers. With almost 50 direct flight connections from key cities across India, no pre-arrival visa requirements, and a flight time of just 2.5 to 4.5 hours, the Maldives continues to attract a wide range of travelers, including couples, families, multigenerational groups, wellness seekers, and those looking for unique experiences.
The discussions also highlighted the Maldives’ growing appeal beyond romantic getaways, with increasing interest from families and multigenerational travelers. Marriott International’s portfolio caters to this demand with spacious multibedroom villas, family-friendly activities, wellness offerings, and a diverse range of experiences above the water, on the water, and below the surface for guests of all ages.

Food and dining were also a key part of the conversation, particularly as Indian travelers increasingly seek culinary experiences that cater to diverse preferences and dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, and Jain cuisine. Across the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio in the Maldives, guests can enjoy a wide range of dining options thoughtfully designed to accommodate these needs without compromising on authenticity or variety.
“India remains one of the most important source markets for our Maldives portfolio, and this year’s engagements across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Delhi provided valuable opportunities to better understand the evolving preferences of Indian travelers. From multigenerational holidays and diverse culinary requirements, our diverse portfolio offers something for every type of traveler,” said Silvio Rosenberger, Market VP – Maldives & Vice President of Operations, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International. “To sustain this momentum, we remain committed to strengthening long-term partnerships with our travel trade and media partners. Through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a shared vision for growth, we can create greater value, expand opportunities, and grow the business together, while showcasing the Maldives as a destination that continues to inspire and connect with Indian travelers.”
