Hilton has announced the signing of Coco de Mer Maldives, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, marking the debut of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand in the Maldives. Scheduled to open in June 2027, the 75-key resort will expand Hilton’s presence in the destination while introducing the brand’s independent and locally inspired hospitality concept to the Maldivian market.

Located just 25 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, the resort is designed to offer guests convenient access to the Maldives alongside a range of premium leisure experiences. The property will feature thoughtfully curated dining venues, a wellness centre, a dedicated water sports centre and recreational facilities including pickleball courts.

Hilton said the signing reflects growing demand for experience-led travel and reinforces its continued expansion in the Maldives as part of its wider growth strategy across South East Asia.

“The Maldives has long been one of South East Asia’s leading lifestyle destinations, and this signing provides a new opportunity to showcase the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand,” said Alexandra Murray, Vice President and Regional Head of South East Asia at Hilton. “The brand is a natural fit for a destination where guests seek authentic experiences rooted in place, and this signing reinforces our commitment to bringing the right brands to the right markets.”

Maria Ariizumi, Vice President, Development, South East Asia at Hilton, said the company continues to see strong interest from owners across the region for its lifestyle brands, supported by evolving traveller demand and favourable market conditions. She said the signing strengthens Hilton’s presence in a high-demand resort destination while expanding opportunities with trusted local partners.

The resort will participate in Hilton Honors, Hilton’s guest loyalty programme, offering members benefits including exclusive discounts, digital check-in, room selection and Digital Key through the Hilton Honors mobile app.
